Charity
Charity is foundational in understanding God’s love for us, and it is foundational to learning to love others as we love ourselves. This little book will challenge our children to begin to love others as Christ would have us to do.
Cheerfulness
The Bible has much to say about Cheerfulness and bringing cheer to others. Our children can develop the habit of complaining and pouting or being cheerful from the inside out, and making cheerfulness one of the godly habits of their lives. This is a great family habit too. Why not work on it as a family?
Compassion
Our heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus are the essence of Compassion. As Jesus walked this earth, He was the perfect example. And Jesus gives us plenty of opportunities to have compassion on the poor and needy. When we do, we are doing it as unto Him, and when we don’t, well, we are not doing it as unto Him, which is really just saying that if He were standing there in need, we would do nothing for Him. We shall give an account one day. This little booklet is a wonderful help in teaching our children to begin now to develop the most excellent trait of compassion.
Contentment
Contentment is an attitude of the heart. It can be had in any situation. It is a spirit of peace with everyone and everything and in all that we do. This little study will help to develop a sweet spirit of contentment in us and in our children.
Courage
It takes some Courage to live for the Saviour. It is easy to talk about Him in church and memorize verses, but can we stand up for Him? Can we really live for Him? Can we? When we must stand alone? We need to teach our children through Christ’s example and our example too. This small booklet will be a valuable tool in helping us with this endeavor.
Forgiveness
Forgiveness is essential if we are going to follow in the steps of our Saviour. We need to love and forgive, teach our children through Christ’s example and our example too. This small booklet will be a valuable tool in helping us with this endeavor.
Obedience
What does it mean to really obey, and whom should we obey? Is it important how much we obey, and how carefully we obey? These are important questions. Our children need to learn the answers to them, and we hope this small booklet on Obedience will do just that.
Patience
Patience, one of the most godly virtues to possess, and yet one of the most difficult virtues to possess. Why is that? Plain and simple—love of self, and lack of love for others. We pray that this little book on patience will be a large help in teaching all of us to be patient for our God is very patient with us! May we follow Him.
Respectfulness
Respectfulness is such an important character trait. Everyone needs to be respectful of God, of His Word, of others, and of His creation. Having respect is almost a foundational precept to learning anything.
Thoughtfulness
Our thoughts become our beliefs. What if they are wrong? A thoughtful person will find truth; others simply find beliefs. Thoughtfulness is essential to a Christlike character. Our God is a most thoughtful God, and if we want to learn how to be truly thoughtful, we will need to study His thoughts revealed by His Words in His Book, the Bible. We hope this character study will be an encouragement to do so.
Willingness
How willing are we? Are we at God’s beck and call as was Elijah? Or Isaiah? Do we train ourselves to obey that call? Do we even hear that call? We need to train ourselves to hear and obey. We need to teach our children also to obey, as Jesus did, even unto the death of the cross. This small booklet on Willingness is designed to help us to be aware of willingness.
